Weston Pier

The Grand Pier at Weston-super-Mare was originally opened in 1904. It was damaged by fire in 1930 and again in July 2008 when it was completely destroyed. The new pier was rebuilt at a cost of £39 million. This picture was taken in July 2009, one year on from the fire and just over a year before its reopening on 23 October 2010.
